The Florida Mall Orlando, with a large food court has some touristy shopping as well as the standard anchor stores. Strictly speaking, not among the Orlando tourist attractions, this mall is touristy. Anchored by Dillard's, J.C. Penney, Macy's, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Sears, this part is just like any other mall in America.
The Orlando shopping anchors at the mall, in our opinion, are not the primary attraction for the Orlando tourist.
These are:
M&M World
M and M entrance inside the mall

M and M Backpacks - If you arrived without an empty backpack these are excellent choices to return home with them full of small souvenirs.

M and M Pillows almost completely fill the M and M Backpack!
M and M Candy

M and M apparel

M and M Messenger bags and other stuff

M and M entrance OUTSIDE the mall

Nestles Toll House "Cookie Corner"

I got the Double Trouble
Disney Store entrance inside the Florida Mall near the center of the mall.

Cars, Cars, and more Cars...

Never without a Disney Princess

These stores are found after arriving at the Florida Mall. We see no local promotion of these stores in the Orlando tourism industry, however, our observations of shopping bags indicate these were visited! Money Exchange has no bags, it just seems natural that an "Orlando local" does not regularly need this yet it has been there for years.
There is a large food court (kinda centrally located). There is enough variety to suit every taste. It is often full (esp. on holidays) and finding a place for your entire group to sit down can be difficult. So, if it is crowed and if you see a place to sit down upon entry, then grab it first and then decide upon what you want to eat while sitting there and then send one or two to get the food!
One of the few (as of this writing,
the only) exceptions, we have not stayed at the Florida Mall Hotel, we
are writing about this anyway. (I decided that I'd try it and see.) I
moved to Orlando before staying here.
We know of it through various experiences because of living here. During hurricane Charlie sharing a ride to here, 1st visit to Florida Mall checking this hotel out, etc.
The Florida Mall Orlando is centrally located to the major theme parks. For those using public transportation, usually international visitors, the Lynx bus service to the major attractions from here is reasonable.
