Black Beards Island, Discover Island, Now Closed!

There were Disney hotels, Disney Camping (Fort Wilderness), Black-beards Island (later named Discovery Island, which later closed, is/was on the island on Bay Lake - there was a launch at Fort Wilderness to get to/from this island... -and now its namesake - Discovery Island - has moved to Animal Kingdom)

Now, Walt Disney World is much more:

• Downtown Disney
• Disney's Typhoon Lagoon
• Disney's Blizzard Beach
• ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

There are a lot more things to do and see than on this map (it is of the Major attraction only) - this is why Orlandowise.com exist for those more than that attractions.

Although, we recommend that on the FIRST visit to Orlando to stay at one of the Disney Resorts and rely on the Disney Magical Express at the Orlando Airport for your luggage and room accommodations, and for later and more frequent visits then start to venture out to more attractions.

Walt Disney World can be overwhelming even now. Even in the early days to some, the Magic Kingdom was overwhelming (well, there was a book of A, B, C, D and E tickets to keep up with and to use prudently if one was on a budget)... ...Times, they are a changing.

My favorite Disney is Fantasmic! at Disneys Hollywood Studios.
