My first visit to Disney World Orlando was on my honeymoon with my now ex-wife.
A more complete retelling of (Walt Disney World, not my ex) my recollection of this Orlando Disney history may be found here.
There were only 4 lane cars entrance and the sign was smaller (not the extras to the left and to the right. I don't remember this parking entrance as this big, I do remember it as big though. Only the Magic Kingdom was here. And we rode a tram from the the Disney World Ticket & Transportation Center to the entrance of the Magic Kingdom.
Back then the monorail was still being built, EPCOT was planned, Disney Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom was probably not even thought of yet.
There were A, B C D and E tickets. If you ran out of tickets then you bought more. The "E" ticket was the best rides. This was the fewest ticket in the book of tickets.
Only 2 or 3 things were free and required no ticket. The Carousel of Progress, the WEDway people mover, and I don't remember the other!
There were 3 resorts:
And Walt Disney Village Marketplace had just opened (about ¼ the size that it is now). Now called Downtown Disney.

These are my memories as I was falling in love with Disney World Orlando.
Yet, I am not the first to realize that learning happens here: Orlandowise that is:
“ Walt Disney World is a tribute to the philosophy and life of Walter Elias Disney... and to the talents, the dedication, and the loyalty of the entire Disney organization that made Walt Disney's dream come true. May Walt Disney World bring Joy and Inspiration and New Knowledge to all who come to this happy place... a Magic Kingdom where the young at heart of all ages can laugh and play and learn — together. ” —Roy Oliver Disney, 25th October 1971
Generally, we are not going to review the major theme parks, there are lots of web sites that list the features...
We will talk about our most interesting, most favorite, most relaxing, most exciting, features so that you may determine if you'll gain this benefit too.
The Magic Kingdom and its Cinderellas Castle is the icon that most relate to at Walt Disney World. And it is among our favorites. Especially at Night!...

In fact, most of Disney World Orlando at night we like better. Of course the inside rides and shows are no different.
See why I like Splash Mountain (my daughter likes Space Mountain). Cinderellas Castle at night and our full Magic Kingdom story here.
In Walt Disney World Orlando, EPCOT (sometimes called EPCOT center) was
my daughters favorite from 3 years old until she was 8 to 10 years old. I
never asked her why then. I only would attempt to go the the parks that
she wanted to go to.

The Sorcerer's Hat, the icon of what was formerly "Disney MGM Studios" was built on top of one of the largest "hidden Mickey's" at Disney World Orlando. Regardless, this is MY favorite park.
Please see our full story about Disneys Hollywood Studios, Why it is my favorite Walt Disney World Orlando Theme Park, and the celebrities that we met.

The show at the Tree of Life is an excellent "Bug Show". However, it is not our favorite at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
Our Favorite show is... Please see our full Disney's Animal Kingdom story here.

We recommend at least 1 day in each theme park. Not to worry, we have been more than 800 times to Walt Disney World Theme Parks and we find something new on almost each visit.

Beth Haworth Former Disney Cast Member, Best Selling Travel Writer reveals her tips in her eBook. More than discounts on tickets, this eBook reveals accommodations, dining and other discounts.
Some of the tactics Beth reveals in the eBook is buying the vacation in advance and we agree.
Pre-Planning the vacation allows the time to find the best value for the desired service, attraction, restaurant, etc., a characteristic those Orlandowise and of smart people, I believe.
