Discount Disney World Tickets Revealed

Once in Orlando discount Disney World tickets, abound! Some legitimate some not. Most, not all, discount Disney tickets, will get you inside the theme park! However, getting your legitimate discount tickets before leaving home is advised.

Local Ticket Sellers

It is our observations that some local ticket sellers will tell their potential customer that "Disney doesn't discount"! This is NOT true!

Disney does sell discount tickets!

I get Disney discount ticket offers in my email updates from Disney almost monthly. However, I must admit that I believed I see these offers more frequently in a shrinking or slowing economy!

Some of these offers are better than those given me because I am a Disney Annual Passholder (which the renewal is a discount).

Maybe the ticket sellers that attempt to convince you that "Disney doesn't discount" just maybe, do not have these discounted tickets to sell.
AAA is one of the few Resellers allowed by Disney to discount tickets.

Now knowing this, there are other practices that are...

Questionable

One of the local questionable practices is to buy the used tickets (buy unused days example: 1 unused day on a 4 day ticket) and then resell it at a profit. The problem with this is, for all that offered to buy my tickets, the buyer is asking (trusting) the seller for the information of unused days!

For the frequency that I am asked to sell my tickets, this practice must have a demand of some value. I have been offered only $10 to $20 per day for a ticket. I never sold it. The unused days NEVER expire, so they will be good 5 years from now!

Another of the local questionable practices is for an employee of the theme park to sell a "comp" pass (or more likely someone that it was given to, is selling it). A "comp" pass is to be given away, NOT SOLD. Usually it is ok to trade these passes for another theme park pass.

Small Dollar Cost / LOTS of Time Cost

When discount Disney World tickets are given away or sold for pennies on the dollar it is usually at a timeshare presentation. Personally, I do not like timeshare.

I want my vacation on my time. I have enough of someone else telling me what and when to do without the desire to look for someone to boss me around on vacation or when to have a vacation.

Therefore, a timeshare presentation is a hindrance to me!

They usually require there to be a couple that earn enough to finance the timeshare purchase. The timeshare presentation usually is one hour and the time to get there and away is another hour. TWO hours! So getting the discount Disney World tickets is like earning $45/hour, right? Wrong! Truly discount theme park tickets are available cheaper than that!

Now, having "DIS"ed timeshare, this is the only one that I consider!

Discount Disney World tickets that I have seen arrive in an email sent by the Walt Disney Company to me. Just as good or sometime even better are Disney Resort hotel discounts.

At the Visit Orlando and the Visit Florida, both government run web sites (or government contractor) there are discount theme park tickets.

A quick scan of AAA membership discounts for discount Disney World tickets revealed that they do have Disney. SeaWorld and Universal were still listed.

Being a Florida resident is NOT a requirement to have an annual pass, although Florida Residents do receive a discount! There are plenty of Canadian "snow birds" that have an annual pass to the theme parks.
